Quadraphonic (4 channel soundsystems)
As stereo sound uses two channels of audio to create a two dimensional soundstage, quadraphonic takes this to the next level. Where stereo only allows control over the left and right, quadraphonic expands this capability to front and back as well as left and right. This gives the artist the ability to manipulate the audio in three dimensions!
Using a joystick-controlled signal line distributor, the audio can be directed to any of four audio sources located in four corners of the venue, the beats literally flying round the room! Using quadraphonic mixers such as the Vestax PCM07PRO ISP, this function can be expanded further to give quadraphonic control over two separate channels, mixing two different tracks in three dimensions!
