"Our event involves presenting performances by leading Storytellers and Musicians from all over the World on stages in a mixture of outdoor, indoor and tented venues. Performances often involve foreign languages and dialects coupled with unique musical instruments of truly ethnic origin. Precision in sound reinforcement is therefore absolutely critical for us to deliver value to our audience, giving them the opportunity to appreciate fully the subtleties as well as the power of the artists. To add to this need, the event itself has its own challenges. We frequently do not receive technical requirements for many artists until they are with us – sometimes a matter of hours before a performance. The unreliable weather in the UK often leads us to change venue at the last minute. The site of the festival, whilst breathtakingly beautiful, was not designed for an easy load-in. We have just enjoyed our third year working with Expression Events at Beyond The Border. They have consistently provided us with the equipment, expertise and flexibility to meet and exceed our goals.
